The Staff at ZestyCleveland 

Lawyers tell me animal abuse is not a capital crime and until PETA takes over Congress, it isn’t going to be. Still, I think abusing an animal is best punished with a death sentence. And none of this weird stuff, like tightening a leather collar around the miscreant’s neck and slowly tightening it until his eyeballs pop out. Lethal injection will do fine.

And not all examples of abuse are worthy of the death penalty. For dog owners who leave their charges chained day and night, the penalty should better fit the crime. Say, six months, chain around the convict’s neck, bowl of gruel refilled every other day. In the corner of the Muny Lot.

I know it has been a few days, and I do apologize to all of you.  Now then…

On this blog, we hope that you, our readers will be our backbone.  As a result, we hope to tailor this, even more, to you.  Three features should do this.

First, we have Ask ZestyZ, where you can ask us anything about ZestyCleveland.  Are you having trouble navigating the site, or, perhaps, do you have a question about something discussed on the site?  If so, ask ZestyZ!

In time, we hope to make Your Zesty Thoughts and Ideas a regular feature.  This is where YOU can give us some Zesty ideas and suggestions.  If you know of a zesty place you think we should visit, let us know!  Or, if you have any thoughts on the web site, we want to know.

Finally, Zesty Photos, Quotes, and Jokes will be the place to submit your own favorite photos (of the area), quotes and jokes for the web site.

First, we have ZestyCleveland’s Unusual Arts and Entertainment.  For example, we have this story by Whitney Foster on Zesty Movie Houses in Northeast Ohio.

Within Unusual Arts and Entertainment, readers will notice a unique feature on the left-hand side of the page: Zesty Fun Every Day/Night of the Week.  This is a really simple, but really cool, feature that gives suggestions for fun and unusual things to do for every day of the week.  This feature will be updated regularly (hopefully with YOUR input!), so you’ll have one less excuse for your boredom.  Also, we hope to make it a regular feature of the blog, making it easier for all of you to give us your ideas.

Unique Food and Drink will show off all that is unique in the local culinary scene.  We start with a story about wineries with an Eastern (Russian) touch: From Russia With Love.

ZestyZ and Super Stiff Guy show us their winery experience:

Zesty  Ohio Resources and Products is the place to go to find books and other resources relating to Northeast Ohio.

So look around.  Tell us what you think, what works and what might need some improvement.  Most of all, give us your ideas.

So, what is Zesty Cleveland all about?  In short, it is all about YOU.  Specifically, we hope to show you a fun and zesty side of Northeast Ohio that you may not have considered before or was simply not well-known.

We’ll get down to the fun stuff shortly, as we introduce all that Zesty Cleveland has to offer.  Ultimately, though, we hope that YOU, our readers, will drive the content of the site.  Have you been to a new, innovative restaurant, visited a unique getaway in the area, or sampled a wild product found only in Cleveland?  If so, we want to know about it, and, who knows, your idea may very well appear on Zesty Cleveland!
